Recently, Google released an update to the Play Store that may have negatively impacted some devices running Android 11 or lower.
This update can corrupt the Play Store, causing it to enter Recovery Mode.
The issue is detailed in the official article below:
🔗 Android Enterprise – Service Announcement
âś… According to the article, there are two ways to resolve the issue:
1 – Disable App Removal Protection
Access the following menu:
Side Menu > Management > Policies > (Select the policy linked to the device) > Applications Tab
Then, uncheck the option that prevents app removal.
This will allow the Play Store to be uninstalled and reinstalled properly, resolving the recovery error.
If the option is already unchecked, it is recommended to wait up to 24 hours for the Play Store to recover and function normally.
2 – Apply the Second Method with Additional Adjustments
If the Play Store does not recover automatically, further steps are required:
🔄 Repeat the Initial Adjustment:
Go to:
Side Menu > Management > Policies > (Select the policy linked to the device) > Applications Tab
Then, uncheck the “App Removal Disabled” option (if it hasn’t already been done).
⚙️ Configure the Kiosk Mode:
Next, access the Kiosk tab within the same policy, and set Urmobo Launcher as the main environment for the device.
After making the recommended changes, go to:
Side Menu > Management > Entities > (select the entity linked to the device) and click the green “Save and Send” button.
Then, restart the device to ensure the information is properly synchronized with the platform.
📱 After the restart, follow these steps directly on the device:
Open the device settings, and go to Apps (or Applications).
Find and select Google Play Store.
Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen.
Select “Uninstall updates” and confirm by tapping “OK”.
Reopen the Play Store, tap the menu icon (or user icon), then go to Settings > Play Store version.
Tap on “Update Play Store”. A message should appear saying:
“A new version will be installed soon.”Close the Play Store. If the process was done correctly, the update will be applied automatically within a few hours.
