How to Identify an Issue During Client Execution

How to Log Events and Errors in Windows

Follow the steps below to obtain logs of events and errors that occurred while using applications on Windows.

Windows 10 and 11

1. In the Windows search bar, type Event Viewer.
2. Click on the Event Viewer App from the search results.
3. In the Event Viewer, expand the Windows Logs option in the left panel.
4. Right-click on Application and select Save All Events As...
5. In the Save As dialog, make sure the file type is set to Event Files (*.evt).
6. Name the log file Application and click Save.

Windows 7

1. From the Start Menu, go to Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Administrative Tools.
3. Then, double-click on Event Viewer.
4. In the Event Viewer, expand Windows Logs in the left panel.
5. Right-click on Application and choose Save All Events As...
6. Make sure the file type is set to Event Files (*.evt) in the Save dialog.
7. Name the file Application and click Save.
