🔐 Urmobo SIM Lock – Smart SIM Card Lock
Urmobo SIM Lock is the Urmobo app responsible for the SIM card locking feature. It allows a security PIN to be set within each management policy, ensuring the SIM card cannot be reused in another device without authorization.
✅ Functionality
When enabled, the SIM Lock blocks the SIM card with an automatically generated PIN.
If the SIM card is removed from the device, it can only be reused by entering this lock code.
This mechanism prevents unauthorized use of the SIM card, even if transferred to another device.
⚙️ How to Configure SIM Lock in the Policy
Access the Urmobo portal.
Go to Management > Android Policies.
Select or create the policy where you want to apply the lock.
Go to the Play Store tab.
Add the app “Urmobo SIM Lock” via the Play Store integration.
In the app list, find the Urmobo SIM Lock app.
Click the three-dot icon (︙) to the left of the app name.
Select the option “Managed Configuration”, as shown in the illustrative image below:
🔐 Finalizing the Configuration of Urmobo SIM Lock
On the Managed Configuration screen, follow the steps below to properly apply the SIM Card lock:
📝 Configuration Steps:
Configuration Name
In the “Configuration Name” field, enter an identifying name (e.g., SIMLock_Urmobo).
Enable SIM Lock
Check the option “Lock SIM Card” to enable the protection against SIM removal.
Set Lock Password
In the “Lock Password” field, enter a numeric PIN of 4 to 6 digits, which will be required to use the SIM card if it is removed or replaced.
⚠️ Attention: Keep this password securely. If lost, you will need to reset the password using the PUK (Personal Unlocking Key) provided by your carrier.
Save Settings
After filling in the fields, click the Save button in the Managed Configuration window.
💾 Final Step:
After saving the Managed Configuration:
Save the Android Policy;
Apply the settings to the corresponding entity.
From this moment on, devices associated with the policy will start locking the SIM Card based on the defined configuration.
📲 Lock Application After Installing Urmobo SIM Lock
After saving the Managed Configuration and the Android Policy, the process proceeds as described below:
🚀 Automatic Installation
The Urmobo SIM Lock app will be automatically installed on all devices linked to the policy.
No manual installation action is required from the user or administrator.
📦 First User Launch
As soon as the user opens the app for the first time, the system will request the necessary permissions.
Once permissions are granted, the SIM Card lock will be automatically activated according to the settings configured on the Urmobo platform.
🔒 Lock Functionality
If the SIM card is removed or replaced, the device will require the previously configured PIN to unlock the SIM.
If the PIN is entered incorrectly, access to the SIM will remain blocked.
This feature is ideal for companies wishing to prevent unauthorized SIM swaps in corporate devices, increasing security and control over the mobile network used.
